Summary of Posts and Resources: Remote Work

I started my day with a fantastic call as part of the Progress Community. I mentioned in the conversation that while I hope I’m offering support to newly-remote workers, I fear that my network already tends to work more flexibly. I wondered how I could reach those who would benefit more. Their advice was to offer a summary that our broader networks could share. This post is that summary. Whether or not you share this particular post -- please do think about how you can reach those who may benefit from your own remote work experience. Thank you, too, for telling me about more resources to add below.

Be Well

Thank you for letting me share this post, and thank you, Progress Community, for the idea. My first research project, started in 1984, focused on the then relatively new concept of “telecommuting.” Since then my work has always presumed flexibility in work design. Many remote work experts are offering support, and I will add other resources from my network here as I find them or you share them with me. The key is that we understand that everyone’s situation is different and that we will likely need to negotiate any changes with our teams, leaders, and clients/users.

My best to you and your loved ones.
