		<description>It has long been the practice in the film industry to pay a &quot;box rental&quot; fee to experienced crew who bring their own equipment to the production.  This is especially true for the make-up artist/stylist but crew in the electrical and camera departments also have specialized equipment that the individual production doesn&#039;t want to have to buy.

I would think any business or team that comes together to complete a specific task could benefit from having the team members bring their own tools.  Not only does it reduce the startup cost of the project but it reduces the time that it takes to get new equipment, get it configured, install the software, etc.  

Businesses that go this route should take a page from the film industry playbook and pay a reasonable rental fee for the equipment so that the tools can continue to be updated on a regular basis.</description>
